“The Importance of Love and character in a ministers life”
By Jonathan Doctor
In Acts 2:22, The Word of God says “Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles, signs and wonders..” We see that God approved Jesus by Miracles, signs and wonders. God used Signs, Miracles and Wonders as a way to put a stamp of approval upon Jesus. God even spoke from heaven and said “This is my beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased”. God also used signs miracles and wonders to confirm and approve His Word that His disciples preached (Mark 16:20).
The disciples followed Jesus’ example in Love and moral character. Jesus walked on this earth as a man fully grown in Love and character. He set the ultimate example as to how to live a life that is pleasing and approved unto God, that is why He had maintained a ministry full of miracles, signs and wonders.
We as ministers must not live a double standard life and expect the Gifts of the Holy Spirit to flow freely in our ministries. Ministry is not about us, but about people, we are in the people business and we need the Gifts and the Power of God by signs, miracles and wonders to meet the needs of humanity. In order for us to have this we must live a life that is pleasing to God. We have heard that the Just shall live by faith, and that faith pleases God, rightly so, Amen. A balanced message of faith also includes Love, for faith works by Love. A balanced message of faith includes integrity, “for the integrity of the upright shall guide them” (Prov. 11:3)
As ministers of the Gospel in 2007, we must maintain a life of Love and Godly character. We are Ambassadors for Christ, representatives of Christ, we are Christians (little Jesus’) on this earth. As ministers and leaders we must live by the standard of the Word of God. We must realize that all people are watching us waiting to label us hypocrites if we mis-represent Christ. The devil himself like a roaring lion is waiting to pounce on us when we open the door to him through our sin. Be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatever a man soweth, that shall he reap.. We can be sure that our sin will find us out if not truly repented of quickly.
As representatives of Christ and as we continue His ministry we must maintain a Pure life of Integrity, we cannot throw away our ministries or work for God for a night of sin. We must maintain a high standard for living as a minister of the Gospel. We must maintain the standard of integrity and not come to compromise.
We as representatives of Christ must maintain a Love walk that follows Jesus. Ministry is about serving people in Love, As we develop our Love walk we can expect to maintain Signs, miracles and wonders in our ministry.
A lifestyle that pleases God has a direct connection with having a productive ministry. Developing and maintaining our personal Love walk and character is so very important and vital to our public ministry. Jesus said that the Father will reward us openly for the things we do in the secret place (Matt. 6:18).
As ministers we must keep our lives pure and let our Love shine. If our lifestyles are approved of God we can be sure that our ministries will be productive and signs, wonders and miracles will be a part of our outreach to meet the needs of humanity.
As you develop in Love and character be assured and encouraged that God will reward you openly and approve your ministry with His Power.
